The Photvoltaics Gaduate School, held in May 2012, was organized by Dr. Richard Beal (a Postdoctoral Fellow with the Network at the University of Ottawa) and funded by MITACS. It was a great success, drawing on the expertise of university professors, government labs, leading photovoltaic companies and international experts and providing participants with both advanced scientific knowledge as well as a broader understanding of the technologies, policies and economics relevant to the Canadian photovoltaic industry.  Industry was well-represented, with speakers from Soventix, Celestica and IBM.  The highpoint of the graduate school may well have been Jenny Nelson’s engaging talk on the future of photovoltaic energy conversion.
